American Emerald Awards showcases and celebrates the accomplishments of people whose passion and commitment to their calling creates lasting impressions. Beginning with the upcoming 5th American Emerald Awards event, the live show will be hosted in the Cicely Tyson Music Theatre.

Inductees into the American Emerald Awars Hall of Fame in 2023 are Alexander O'Neal and Cherelle, Cathy Hughes, Johnnie Taylor, Lady B, Minnie Riperton, Patti LaBelle and Tyrone Davis.
